Ullesthorpe Court Golf Course has been closed since 23rd March

Ullesthorpe Court Golf Centre will re-open from Wednesday 13th May after changes to the coronavirus lockdown.

The club said that initially only 9 hole rounds would be allowed to ensure that members would be able to play.

In a note to members the club said: "Golf offers a range of physical and mental health benefits and is an important step in the return to a sense of normality, it is however vital that golf can be enjoyed in a safe environment."

Bookings were being taken for a maximum of two golfers who are allowed to be from different households providing socially distancing rules can be adhered to.

Ullesthorpe Court Golf Club is one of the first in the country to announce it is to re-open since the Government changed the lockdown rules on Sunday.

Among the changes, the Prime Minister announced people would be allowed outside for unlimited daily exercise and they would be allowed to travel to anywhere in England.

England Golf said a number of organisation had come together since the start of the lockdown to help UK gold during the COVID-19 crisis.

Nuneaton Golf Club is also among other local clubs to announce it would be offering tee times from 13th May.
