Thomas Young won gold in the T38 100m sprint in Tokyo.
The crowds were out in full force to welcome home Thomas Young, who won Gold for Team GB this Summer.
21-year-old Thomas Young, orignially from Croyden in London, is based in Shepshed and is at Loughborough College on a Sports Studies course.
He is coached at Charnwood Athletics Club.
It it is this community who were there to greet Thomas as he got out of the car after a long flight from Japan. There were dozens of comments underneath the video singing his praises and expressing their pride in their adopted hero.

For Thomas this has been a dream come true. Before the games he told Loughborough Sport,
“I hoped that the Paralympics would be this year, so I’ve kept on training with the goal of still going to Tokyo,” Thomas told Loughborough Sport.
“Being able to race more this year has made the sport more enjoyable because I love to compete…I hope to go there and win the gold."
