The tenant and neighbours reported a number of anti-social incidents to both the Police and council.
A three-month closure order was issued on Friday 9 July by Leicester Magistrates Court banning all visitors to the property at Flat 20, Bennett Close, Hinckley.
It was granted after local residents were subjected to incidents of anti-social behaviour which included late night disturbances, suspected drug misuse and rowdy and nuisance behaviour.
Executive Member for Housing and Community Safety at the Borough Council, Councillor Michael Mullaney, said: “Both the tenant and local residents were having to put up with offensive anti-social behaviour and I am glad action has been taken to help solve the problem. Everyone should be able to feel safe in their own home and this type of behaviour is unacceptable and this demonstrates that we will take action if required.”
A copy of the closure order has been displayed outside the house and anyone breaching the order could be arrested and, if found guilty, could face a punishment of up to 51 weeks in prison and/or an unlimited fine.
