Police are appealing for witnesses after an incident of arson at a house in Coalville.
A spokesperson from Leicestershire police said: "The incident happened on Friday 20 November at 3.20pm when the rear door of a property on Margaret Street was set alight.
"A member of the public called the fire service who were able to quickly extinguish the fire. Extensive smoke damage was caused to the rear porch at the property."
DC Natasha Perkins, from Coalville CID, is the investigating officer.
She said: “Thankfully, there was no-one inside when the fire was started and it was extinguished before it caused further damage.
“I am keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident. Did you see anything suspicious? Do you know who is responsible?
“Any information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, may help us with our enquiries."
