The driver of the car – a man in his 40s – was pronounced dead at the scene.
A man in his 40s has died after a fatal collision in Blaby yesterday and the force’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) is appealing for witnesses and dash cam footage.
Leicestershire Police were called to the scene in Hospital Lane at 8.50 am on Sunday 2nd of April following the discovery of a black Vauxhall Vectra that had left the road.
Detective Sergeant Lisa Wood from the SCIU said: “The vehicle appears to have been travelling along Hospital Lane towards Blaby at the time of the incident.
“We are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area between 8.40 am and 9.10 am and may have seen the Vectra. Anyone with dash cam footage is also urged to come forward as you may have captured something useful to our investigation.”
Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service and the East Midlands Ambulance Service were sent to the scene.
