A woman in her 70s passed away in hospital.
A woman has died following a collision in Stoke Golding last week.
Leicestershire detectives are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
Shortly before 2.30pm on Thursday (5 September) police were called to Stoke Road following a report of a collision involving a black Volkswagen Golf, Silver Mini Cooper S, grey Ford Fiesta and grey BMW 3 Series.
The driver of the Mini – a woman in her 70s – and a 40-year-old man who was driving the Golf were taken to hospital. No other injuries were reported.
Enquiries to establish the circumstances of the collision continued but last night (Monday 9 September) police were informed that the driver of the Mini had passed away in hospital. The driver of the Golf has since been discharged.
Detective Constable Louise Hough, from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU), said: “While officers who attended the scene spoke to several witnesses, we’re now investigating a fatal collision and I’m appealing for anyone who has not yet contacted police to do so.
“From our enquiries carried out since the incident occurred, we know there was a tractor in the area which was being used to cut a hedge at the side of the road. I would like to speak to the driver as a matter of urgency.
“I’m also keen to speak to anyone with a dashcam or anyone who saw the collision occur. If you saw any of the vehicles involved prior to it happening, then you may also be able to help.
“Anything you’re able to tell us could assist our investigation.”
